Fuel line comming out of (R) of pump?

The line comming out of right of fuel pump on my 1978sc has a gas leak. I tried putting an extra fitting on the end of the line but that didn't work. How can I cut this line extend it and put the fitting back on so that it dosen't leak. I would like to replace the line from the fitting to the entrence into the bottom tunnel but it connects at the tunnel with some type of crimped on metal fitting. Is there a way to do this so that I dont' have to replace the whole line to the engine bay?

Best solution, IMHO, is to get a new fuel line. I know the one you are talking about. Its got the hard line that goes thru the frame, connects to a soft line that goes to the fuel filter.

I had the same problem on MFI car. I bought some fuel line from local autoparts store (make sure you get line for fuel injection....higher pressure) and inline brass barb connector, and small worm clamps. Cut the old line near where its crimped to hard line (not too close maybe 2 inches or so). Then installed new line. Its working with no leaks but MFI fuel pressure is so hi I dont trust it for a trip. Currently car is in winter storage. Will get new line in the spring.
