What is the trick to disassembling the center console? I am speaking specifically of the center console on my Carrera which houses the speaker fader, A/C controls and central locking. I have every screw that can be removed removed but still can't get any of the components out of the console. What gives?

To remove the console from the car you need to remove the 2 sheet metal screws at the base that go into the chassis. There is also one hidden at the end of the console directly under the handbrake and under the carpet. You have to feel for it and gently pull the carpeting away from the console to expose the screw. The back of the console is removed with 4 black sheet metal screw, 2 on each side. Once this back portion is off, you can then see if any screws are holding in the units you speak of. You don't neccessarily have to remove the whole console to get to these, just remove the 4 rear screws. I replaced mine a few months ago because the base had cracked.
