SoCal OC New Years Day Hangover Run

The great SoCal weather on this first day of 2004 attracted a large group of exotic and rare cars(100+) for this run. Starting point was Crystal Cove Shopping Center and the final destination was Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Some of the roads covered were PCH, Laguna Canyon, Sand Canyon, Trabuco, El Toro, Limestone Canyon, Santiago, and Carbon Canyon. Departure was at 9:15am sharp. Cost was $4 dollars ($2 for a toll charge plus $2 for entrance to Carbon Canyon Regional Park). Overall was a fun drive on wide open roads with some twisties and at time reaching the speed of 140mph+. Complete Album Here.

Wow! I'm amazed that you were able to get the authorities to close those roads so that your group could safely traverse them at such high speeds. You did do that, didn't you? I'd hate to think that you were promoting illegal activities.

in the pictures it looks like the cars are standing still. I suppose it is illegal to park in the middle of city streets. Shame on you guys.

Yeah, it must be a fast shutter on the camera, or something. It gives the pictures a kind of 'day that time stood still' quality.

Looks like fun, though.

Porsche Crest

Not trying to promote illegal activities. But a bunch of us did go above the speed limit on a open road with no other cars around. Most of the time, we only cruised at normal speed. It was a fun drive.
