Spark Plugs and Wires

I am looking at getting Magnecor wires and NGK plug wires.

What size wires should I get?

Is there a specific model spark plug. I am sure there is a number for my motor, but sometimes what the manufactor doesn't suggest what is truly best or has been proven best.

8.5 wires are popular

Suggest for an '83, BERU plug wires and w5DC. We feel the quality of BERU's are worth the extra $. Have been in business for 25 years working exclusively on Porsche's and would only recommend using these wires.

I've had good results with carbon core ignition cables and would stay away from Beru as most of my ignition problems I have had in the past have been traced to bad Beru connectors or shorting cables.

Do you have to pull the AC compressor out to route the wires below it?

You shouldn't need to. If you find these really tricky, unbolt the compressor but NOT the AC lines & rest it to the side on a towel over the rear fender.
