NO HISSING!!!!!
I just finished putting my 86 930 motor together and last night it would not start. I just spent 30+ minutes searching the archives to no success. So here it goes: knowns: I have fuel flowing. I have new battery. Engine cranks. I have voltage from the engine compartment fuse and engine ground. (p.s., I still have to confirm spark since last night my timing light would not produce flash off wire #1). Time for me to pull each wire and connect spare plug!!! CDI and 15-pin connections have been confirmed numerous times. CDI whine exist. Fuel Pump whine exist. PROBLEM: Before the engine was dropped for a left side rebuilt, I could hear 'hissing/air sucking sound' when I lightly push down on the 'flapper' located to the left of the distributor. Pushing down is done with the switch is in the 'on' position. Now, after putting it back together, the hissing sound does not exist. What did I do? Did I miss connecting a 'vacuum line?' Which one? Assuming I do not have spark, would this affect/cause the problem above? Thanks. |

Well if it were me, I would make sure I hava a spark at the plugs. Maybe you forgot the rotor. I would also make sure I have fuel. You should hear the injectors squirt when you push the flapper with the key on
