What's different?

Guess I don't get any points for observation. :-)

Very nice... everything at the tip of your fingers... well, at the top of the page anyhow.

I was a bit saddened to see the classifieds link go yesterday, but one does not argue with the BBS god.

Now it's all good... and with more choices too!!

YEAH! I'm very happy to see the AutoX and Racing forum! I know I'll read it much more often now.

Wayne;
Why does it say...
Quote:
For car-related discussions not pertaining to Porsches
at the top of the page under "AutoX and Racing" while the forum is actually defined as

Now, if you'd just get rid of the Shelby and Technical Articles forums (40 posts each) that would clean things up even more . . . apologies to all the folks to post there.

Thumbs up I like it.

Nice layout, and choice of topics/links.

not that I'm one to pick nits...

the autox should move to the left column so that cars for sale and parts classifieds are together in the right column. You also might want to remove "anything goes in OT"...that sounds like carte blanche to me

Also, the "related forums" header text should go a bit further rights...either aligning with the text links or centered in the table column like the other ones below.

There are inconsistencies in naming on the main forum listing. Most start with "Porsche" but a few do not. I assume it is to keep the titles around the same length, so that is a judgement call. Boxster and Cayenne should go below the numbered forums (911, 914, etc). No editorial, but numbers usually precede alphabetical text.

And Shelby should go away...at least out of the Porsche forums listing.

Other than that I agree with the words Sam put in my mouth.

I LOVE IT! The boards that I visit the most often are right at the top of the page.

I like it! In fact I'd like that view to be on most of the forum views. So classifieds, engine building, racing, and others could all have that!

...and also agree to put the Classifieds together on the right... ..racing on the left.

AutoX and Racing.

Well Wayne, if you really want to push your hacking chops, you could make that section user-definable...a kind of "your Pelican". In the user cp section each user can check off the forum links they would like to have at the top of their pages, and it could be set to either be only on the main forum page or on the thread pages also.

uh-oh...sleepless night warning...

Send a message via AIM to vash
if you type a thread reply and submit, is there an easy way to jump back to the page (thread list) you last read?

Hit the big button that appears on the page right after you hit submit.

Thanks for the input guys, I will make a few small revisions based upon your input.

Awesome!!

Something I noticed the other day. When you post a reply and the button pops up for a few seconds, under the button is still says something about only being a temporary test. I think the button is working

Wacky suggestion for everyone raving - subscribe to your favorites. First page I see when I come here is my "user cp" page, which shows all the groups I've subscribed to, whether there are any new posts, and if I've got any private messages waiting. I post up on the site from that position, and it works well.

As for the changes, I like putting the "Cars For Sale" board up there - I think it'll see more posts now and it will encourage more eyes on the ads as well.

I don't see a need for adding a link to Regional.

Very cool. How can you make changes to the interface while we're on the BBS? Doesn't that cause conflicts?
