Brake pads for big reds?

Hey everyone,
My boss and I just realized today that the brake pads installed on my big red calipers aren't quite correct. We installed some 944 Turbo S pads to compare and they fit better, but not perfectly. I'd really like to find some Ferodos that will fit, but I haven't been able to find any.

What brake pads are recommended for these calipers? Preferably good street pads, as the racing pads for the big reds are just way too expensive.

Thanks,
Andrew

Here's a pic from pelican's website... I'm assuming that the pads I need are the ones on the right. I think I have the ones on the left installed, and my rotors are the ones on the right too. Does anyone know which year/model these are so that I can buy some?

944 turbo S uses a 993/S4 caliper which uses pads ~10mm shorter(radially) than a Big Red

Big Red was oem front on '94 965, '96-'98 993tt

There are no cheap Big Red pads ~$250 and up is the norm.

I know for a fact '91 965s were available with big reds. Pelican has the pads for $99 and $125 depending on which model turbo, that's why I'm trying to figure out which is which. I know I need the pads on the right in the pic, but I don't actually know which model they fit. I'm assuming it's a '93 turbo because of the rotors The pads on the left are what came with the calipers, but they're for different rotors and obviously don't fit.

If you say so

For every one else that would like to know, the first use of the Big Red caliper was on the '92 928GTS. It was then introduced on the 965(964turbo) 3.6 in '93.
Its was then continued in use on the '94 965(3.6t), '96-'98 993tt/C4 and -'95 928GTS, there may also have been some 4 banger uses that I am not familiar w/.

Many people confuse the Big Red w/ the 993/S4 caliper which was used on many models in that same time frame.

Color has nothing to do w/ the difference as they were available in several colors.

the difference is in the pad height.

Big Red uses a 132x75mm pad, 132x58mm friction area
993/S4 uses a 132x71mm pad, 132x48mm friction area

Additional confusion arises because the same 322x32mm rotors that are used in Big Red applications are used in some applications of the 993/S4 calipers ie '91-'93 3.3 965(964T)

to summarize
The '91 965(3.3) used 993/S4 calipers on 322x32mm rotors in the front
The '93 965(3.6) used Big Red calipers on 322x32mm rotors in the front
