How do I adjust Koni 80k-2088 shocks?
I have a set of Koni 80K-2088 orange shocks on the rear of the racecar. I took them out today and one of them has virtually no compression damping at all (compared to the other side).
They are apparently adjustable, but I see no where to adjust it. I tried turning the steel rod but even after 20-30 turns counter clockwise, they don't get any stiffer. I tried going back just as far past the origin point and still no dice... Looking on Koni's website showed several adjustment methods, but non that seem to fit these shocks! Thanks

I believe you have to compress the shock,engage the valve, then turn and adjust.

Yep what Tim said. Or if you have the low pressure gas type then you have to press down on a ball bering looking thing that sticks up from the base where the piston shaft goes into the shock. Or more simply where the little rubber dust seal is. Hope this helps.

Where is this valve? I see no valve or screw of any sort! Chris

Never mind, I got it. Pushed it all the way down and felt it engage the valve. 2 turns either way. Runner bumpers were getting in the way of pushing it all the way down.
Adjustability is in rebound only, not compression. Are these normally a lot harder in rebound than compression?

If you have no compression damping, it won't help. I believe that single adjustable konis adjust the rebound only

Yep. Figured that out.
Turns out the DO have compression damping, it's just a lot softer than I "expected" it to be

Rebound damping is going to be 3 or 4 times as great as the compression damping.
