I'm with Jeremy. I would stomp on it as soon as I got on the street. Drive until I hit the border or a road block. I'd be the only guy in Pelican Prision with a smile.

Kevin Stewart 01-16-2004 10:17 AM

yea that is a real 959 or the best fake i have ever seen, the rockers and jack cap are right (not one peice) but the consel bothers me, but as all porches can be different each day its probably just an updateded piece,

I think the left rear tire is in a hole in the pavement giving us that illusion

How fast would I drive, I doubt I would ever be able to keep my licsence, Kevin

No they were for ride height adjustment - sport, touring, and "driveway".

If I had a 959, I'd drive it as fast as possible on the wide open highways of southern CA, especially the 405

Actually, I'd drive it across the country - there are some SERIOUSLY nice roads through the northern part of the country - long and fast with nothing to obstruct your view for miles.

Otto is Definately teasing us at this point, Keviin :)

speeder 01-16-2004 10:44 AM

I knew that it was real from the first couple of pictures, especially since Otto saw it up close and would know a fake right away. Actually, anyone who knows these cars could determine the model very quickly.

And that is the VIN on the temp. registration. 959s, (and all other ROW cars), do not have a VIN tag on the windshield ("A") pillar.

masraum 01-16-2004 10:47 AM

Heheh, yep, I'd say it's real. My thought is "was Otto driving it?"

Amac 01-16-2004 10:48 AM

Looks great!!
Real or not, I'd drive it as fast as it would go!!
Can anyone tell from the VIN # on the permit.

jpnovak 01-16-2004 10:59 AM

Vin ends with 5900065. Looks real to me.

Mr9146 01-16-2004 11:01 AM

Anyone notice the POS - err, Cayenne - in the background of one the pics ... good show, Otto. Two for the price of one.

RickM 01-16-2004 11:04 AM

I don't even think Getty did such a good job. I say real....and further...I say it's a 959 "Comfort" Edition.

KTL 01-16-2004 11:14 AM

Nice penmanship. :p

RickM 01-16-2004 11:16 AM

Can someone run a carfax on that vin? :-)

Zeke 01-16-2004 11:19 AM

I'm angry as hell. I've spent over 5 minutes doing 2 simple Google searches and finally couldn't load Otto's website. Goddamn dial up.

Here's the skinny: Golds' is at 360 Hampton St in Venice. I think that's across the street. This 959 IS IN OTTO'S PARKING LOT!!!!

Someone care ot verify that?

DavidI 01-16-2004 11:23 AM

Otto is a funny guy. He took all of us for a ride....

Now hand over the keys!

Paul Thomas 01-16-2004 11:34 AM

Here's another one that was in my buddys' shop recently.
