Wrong. If the license fee was $1422.00, the purchase price was $284,400. (About market value, coincidentally).

Your math would not be right even if the license fee was at the higher rate, before the increase was rescinded.

i agree, the only 959 that i liked was the paris dakar version
the normal one looked like the designer watched to many episodes of Miamy Vice, trying to look like a badass, but with the fluffy hairdo, wrong looking jacket and the mocassins , while the Paris Dakar version looked like a mean SOB

The fastest it can go

Pedal to the metal:D

I stand Corrected. I figured the $1422 was the sales tax also the car is older than 11 years so it is the base reg fee not actual value V L F .Steve

Paris Dakar version was really sweet, but how about the 961 version?

WTF are you smoking, homestyle? If the tax was $1422, (8.25% in L.A. county), the purchase price would be $16,729.41. I'm not exactly Stephan Hawkings, but this is pretty simple multiplication. ;)

Whatever, ROCK ON, BRO!! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat4.gif

hmm dunno, 961 looks just as funny to me , even a real 959 looks like a 911 with a Gemballa body kit to me, which might explain why everytime somebody thinks he spotted one, there is an endless discussion if it's a real one or a SC with mods...

Alas, it is real. I had shut the car down in the middle of changing the ride height to see what would happen -- you can find pix somewhere on 6speedonline of it in various heights...etc.

Car is unbelievable. Sorry I didn't know about the gathering Sat. Morning. I was driving up around where you guys were too.

Wow, man, is that one of Canepa's cars? Must be an unbelievable ride. Do you use it as a daily driver?

deanger 01-25-2004 03:54 PM

Not one of Canepa's cars... Bought from Japan with help of friend... Did all the importing, show/display/epa...etc... Then to Andial for fixing up. Car was in good shape. A few minor issues to address now that I've put some miles on it.

I don't use it everyday, but I use it the way it should be used, if you know what I mean.
I've been waiting since 1987 for this car, so I don't let it just sit there in the garage...

Beethoven 01-25-2004 04:29 PM

Do you have any pics? I'm sure guys on this board would be absolutely thrilled and drooling to look at them and to hear what it's like to drive such a machine. Who is working on the car? Andial?
