New Colors & Buttons...

I know that a lot of you hate change...

But...

I have changed the buttons on the BBS to make them easier to find. A common complaint in the past has been that people cannot find the buttons. I have also made two (yes, only two) changes to the colors on the screen - changing the colors aligns the BBS with the new look for the Pelican Website (slowing being rolled out across the site). I want a consistent look and feel across the entire new site. Plus the green and pink pastel colors really weren't cutting it anymore.

These are the only changes for now. In the future, the small tabs on the top of the screen will be turning into something else. I also have a major upgrade in the software used to run the BBS coming soon - this will change things significantly, but there will be a lot of upgrades in the process (including an improved search function!).

Gotta find my monitor controls and turn the color down.......:D
Yeah, whatever you like. Looks like Boyd Cottinton's new blue and yellow '34. Cub Scout blue and yellow, UCLA...

Changes? What Changes? Aside from these big-ol-buttons, the context looks the same.

The most important part is being able to read the site's posts. Looks are very secondary.

it SUCKS

Feel better Wayne?

The buttons aren't as bad as with the old colors. They still don't tie in quite right like the do on the new catalog due to the lack of the yellow/tan header bars and the alternating pale yellow on the left column. But it's closer.

I like it Wayne - much more professional looking.

Looks good! That was the first thing that I thought earlier today.

glad to be of service...

actually, if you could use the same yellow that is in the pelican's beak, I think it would look a lot better. And no, I'm not kidding. It would tie the buttons visually to the logo in the top left. As they stand now, there is too much orange/red in them.

I hired some well-known consultants over the summer - one of the tidbits they gave me was the results of colored button studies they did - which color resulted in the highest conversion rate among several controlled tests. The burnt-orange won...
