Cool Well its out!!!

Well I finally had some time this afternoon and I was just going to undo a few bits and pieces here and there, and as of 18:00 hours she has now had her heart removed.

The reason for doing the motor pull is because of what happened here

I did not expect it to come out this easy, but I will say that I should have given more thought to the moment when it actually separated from the tranny Talk about a balancing act.

So sometime soon I am hoping to do a teardown workshop, for any pelicanites interested in the Southern uk area.

If I had to do it again, I would have a mate nearby to remind me to undo the clutch cable, springs etc. and to tell me to prepare a place for the newly dropped motor. Ahhh hindsight is a wonderfull thing.

Anyway, just had to share,

Cheers Jakes

Woohoo!!

Well done mate, and especially for doing it solo! (Where's the pics?)

Let us know when you plan to start the autopsy.

Cheers,

Tim.

You can do it. I just took to the road on my rebuilt engine for the first time yesterday. During the rebuild, I helped myself to 40 more horsepower as payment for my trouble.

The engine rebuild forum will be your new best friend...

Cool

Congratulations. It is an accomplishment. Take your time and keep every thing clean. It will pay off handsomly.

If I were anywhere around there I would be over to give you a hand. I hope sometime soon to visit the "ould sod" sometime soon.

Good luck,
David Duffield

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I am really getting excited now. I have a couple of other bits and pieces to get and then I can do the stripdown. Engine stand and yoke and the camshaft holding tool.

Tim, I did take some pics of all the various wires and their positions etc, but kinda thought that they werent that thrilling. I think when I start posting the pics of the carnage that I am expecting inside, well that's another story.

Later,
Jakes

Right, thats double duties for you when you come to help mate

It's probably a good thing no-one was around to take pics last night, it was quite comical balancing the motor on the jack while trying to reach some propping material with my feet.......

Ah well, I'll do it better next time
