Question CV Axle compatability

Can I replace the CV axles on my 1977 2.7 Litre 911S with those from my 1974 2.7 Litre 911. I would hate to buy a re-built unit only to find that I had a compatible spare. This is for a weekend fun cruiser, not a racer.
If you read this post Colin, I did your test and it wasn't the bearing. (No rumbling in reverse).

Cool

The ones from my '74 interchange with my '75. My best guess is to hold them up next to each other and take a look at the situation.

Good luck,
David Duffield

NOPE!!!

In mid-75 the CV-joints [and flanges] changed from four M10 Allen bolts to six M8 Allen bolts!
