wiring for internal voltage regulator
I am putting anewer engine in my '73 and it has a voltage regulator built into the alternator.
How do I wire this into the '73 (which had a voltage regulator mounted on the engine compartment electrical panel)? And what are the wire colors I'm looking for? Thanks! |

Do a search under early_s_man and alternator, you will find that Warren has posted the technical bulletin from the factory that details the upgrade.
If I were you, however, I would use your old alternator and retain the external voltage regulator. Do a search on THAT for the detailed discussion of why, but it boils down to heat. Heat kills the voltage regulator, so putting it next to the engine block is not good for it.

Thx -- it's too late for that I'm afraid.
