dust proof car covers?
I keep my old Porsche in the barn (what a story someday!).
However, the goats kick up a lot of fine dust in their stalls and it gets on everything. I have a soft breathable cover for the car, but it allows the fine dust to sneak thru the weave to the underside. Once it does, the cover can get as dusty on the underside as the outside. Is there a soft cover that will keep the dust out? Paul

Paul,
What year 911 (I assume ‘82SC)? How long is it stored at a time (you said daily driver)? Get someone to make you a custom cover with Gore-Tex type material as part of it. Of course it should have a cotton liner. The original Gore-Tex is still relatively expensive but there now similar products on the market for a lot less cost. You are going to want to enclose the underside too. Other issues in keeping the 911 in a barn are the temperature swing, barometric pressure changes, and humidity. These cause air (and moisture) transfer into every part of the car. That barn dust will follow. What is in the barn dust? Slightly acidic sheep urine perhaps? We keep our horses in a barn and cars in a garage. Perhaps consider for the 911 a little separate garage building that is sealed and insulated. Then you don’t have to use a cover. Virginia climate can be hard on a daily driver. A little dehumidifier would be a useful addition. You can still call it the (Porsche) barn. Best, Grady

I think the PAG cove should work -- I got one for $50 on eBay. Use a soft cover beneath it. Goretex is a good idea if not too spendy.
But, I'd worry about the goats eating the car! Plus the issues Grady noted. |

Tyvek should work well too.
