Look at the reflection in the tach. The guy was holding the camera with both hands. No way it's real - but it is damn funny!!!

I think that's the point! I imagine it would strip the gears (as I have heard they are fragile) rather than have enough force to bend the needle.

Everything outside would be a blur. I think both gauges are disconnected from the car, but artificially deflected.
