Philip,
I just sit there on the Connecting... screen. I'm beginning to think I'm missing a patch... :( |
hmmm, maybe so, but i have the patch and i cant connect to some hosts. i connect to emcon just fine, but cant get onto leland's. wierd. wanna try hosting some? i'll try and connect to yours?
|
Try me at 68.145.247.239
|
no go bob, connection lost.
grrrr! |
bump, just to get the email reminder about tomorrow!
|
Philip what's this patch?
|
The v3.5 patch?
it's a patch for the NFSPU game. not sure what it does. when i first started loading the patch on my pc it would kill the game. but then i downloaded a MS update for XP and the patch worked. i can't remember the name of that XP update though... baaahh |
look on the previous pages of this thread, you'll see people talking about it. and there are links for it. donwlaod it, install it and see if it works.
|
If it's the one to work with XP; my game works fine with XP.
I'll try hosting on more time: 68.145.247.239 try away |
tried again, no luck.
|
just to clarify, the v3.5 patch, isn't an XP patch. it's a patch for the game. i'm running it, and most who play online run it. i dont know why, but we do.
bob try this ip.... 192.168.1.100 when i check my ip # through my browser i get the first one i typed above. but when i create a game, in the top right corner it has that ip number, 192.168.1.100. what's up with that? |
Darn.....this both suck AND blows.
One thing I did see is some pings, I know when I was inside my firewall, it will not reply to pings so I wonder if the players coming into a game need to be "pingable"? Need to feed babies now, but I will try again later tonight. |

Yeah that's what I'm taking about...rolling, crashing, all good.
I have a custom car and someone said they couldn't see it. Is it because others don't have the graphic? I would've thought the developers would have taken this into account. And yes I need a wheel, the keyboard just doesn't cut it. I'd like to try connecting through my firewall to someone else next time (tomorrow) to make sure it works. |

Q. How can I play internet games (i.e. Ages of empire) with the router? A: Enable DMZ in Advanced Features of the web configuration screen. For example, if your computers IP address is 192.168.1.102, enter the last three digits, or 102, in the DMZ field. You may also try using the port forwarding option instead of using DMZ. try this settings change and see if it works. -BILL |
