Thanks to the Pelican Heads
Well after much debate and internal conflict, I just watched my 911 drive off into the sunset.....
It was a very tough decision to let her go, but I just didn't have enough experience with 911s to justify keeping her (it was originally my fathers car)....In the year that I owned the car, it tormented me with a rash of little problems that would have been the end of me without this tech forum...... So in the end, the car has a new home, and I have cash in pocket, space in garage and better sleep at night without worrying about what the high maintenance hussy in the garage was going to put me through next..... The car was stunning by the way, like a beautiful woman, and as an old friend of mine used to say about beautiful girls.... "No matter how pretty she....Some where, Some guy, IS SICK OF HER SH..T" Well I was that guy....But many thanks to all of you who helped me when I was stumped, and to the tech articles that walked me through the repairs it needed.... The new owner is quite the porsche guy, so he will be able to give her the attension she needs....... Keep up the good work you guys, so those "Beautiful Girls" can be enjoyed by the rest of us out there. Maybe some day I'll risk owning another one.... Cheers, Ian |

Ahh, I'm going to miss that car, too. But, now there's no excuses; the Z should be a rocket ship from the new "funds."

Man you guys are quick on the post!!
Well I managed to get more than the local broker vultures (scheming bastards!!!) were trying to wear me down to, but the car had been COMPLETELY RESTORED except for the interior which was in great shape for being 30 plus years old, so I only recouped a fraction of what had been invested in her..... but them’s the breaks with P-cars and the "engine rebuild costs more than the car is worth" syndrome... The guy who bought it was great to deal with especially after putting up with the same vultures (scheming bastards!!) at every Porsche event I showed the car at!! He will give her a good home Not to get on a rant or anything, but P-car values are in the toilet right now, and the Euro is so strong that these broker guys (scheming bastards!!!) are making a KILLING by buying our babies for virtually nothing and sending them overseas......never to return. No blood, no sweat no tears, no appreciation for the quality of the California P-cars, just a chance to turn a quick buck at our expense..... I swear, if one of those guys had approached me at Dunkles I would have KICKED HIM IN THE NUTS!!!! ![]() AHHHH I feel better now!! ![]() I was about ready to keep the car, but I needed to let her go.... The roof over your head is more important than the wheels under your feet...... So maybe I'll get another P-car in the future, but only if I can find one as nice as Chili's ![]() Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for all the help (that’s why I posted this on the tech page) Cheers, Ian |
