Which type of head stud does the 1992 c2 turbo use
Is it dilivar or steel ?

Kurt:
Those will likely be Dilavar. You can confirm that with a magnet,.......:) Steel ones stick, and Dilavars do not. |
Thanks steve. Im about to install a very low mileage motor in my project car. It has been sitting for a while now and im hoping for steel units . Ive read that the dilivar studs can corrode causing them to snap . I would not be very happy with that since I allready have enough work to do. Starting the engine up and expanding for the first time in years sounds pretty risky. I will give it the magnet test on monday.

Good man. :)
If they prove to be Dilavars, I'd strongly suggest that they get swapped for the 993 TT Dilavar ones. I'm no fan of steel studs on Turbo motors. |
The ones that Steve and most knowledgable builders are recommending are
993 101 170 51 used on 964 3.6t, 993RS and 993tt |
