Kurt:
Those will likely be Dilavar. You can confirm that with a magnet,....... ![]() Steel ones stick, and Dilavars do not.

Thanks steve. Im about to install a very low mileage motor in my project car. It has been sitting for a while now and im hoping for steel units . Ive read that the dilivar studs can corrode causing them to snap . I would not be very happy with that since I allready have enough work to do. Starting the engine up and expanding for the first time in years sounds pretty risky. I will give it the magnet test on monday.

Good man.
![]() If they prove to be Dilavars, I'd strongly suggest that they get swapped for the 993 TT Dilavar ones. I'm no fan of steel studs on Turbo motors.

The ones that Steve and most knowledgable builders are recommending are
993 101 170 51 used on 964 3.6t, 993RS and 993tt
