Going with Lenz, has anyone heard anything negative about
Talked with shop. Shop said Lenz system would resolve my drop offs and that the Lenz would not decrease torque. They said that the system would basically optimize all of my current mods and that I should see more than 310 hp since the 310 is a quote for the kit on a bone stock engine.
Anyone one know of any downsides about the Lenz system before I order mine tomorrow.

There will be a lot of curious and skeptical folks awaiting the results of this project D. I'll anxiously be looking forward to its completion and subsequent testing! Are you doing this to your 3.6L C2?

It is basically a stand alone fuel management system I guess is what you could call it. It would be like doing a custom chip on the dyno but has a lot more tuning points and etc. We drove a 3.2 with it and it was an impressive car. My car is a 3.6 1990 964.

I think it would be beneficial for the guys on this board to make an educated recommendation/or criticism if you could get more specifics of the Lenz system and how it works and if available, independent testing from a reliable source. Even their website doesn't give a whole lot of specifics, just a lot of seemingly proprietary technology and vague terminology and names for their products. The guys on this board are sticklers for facts and data, not hype.

The pdf file kind of goes in depth. Mainly looking to hear if any one has had a bad experience. The only 964 I have seen one on was a 410 hp claimed 3.8 RS engine in DuPoint and it sold quickly at a hefty price.
Someone on Rennlist had one on a 3.2 that I was just reading about. He seemed to know his stuff and all of the technical aspects of the system. He had nothing but praises. I am willing to be the gueana pig so to speak and will be able to show before and after results, though my car is not stock. I guess we shall soon see what it does.

How much do they want for it? Who installs it? You or them?

Doug;
Since it sounds like you want to go forward with it, I'm all for it. It would be interesting to see what your results are and how the process works. It would be wrong for me to venture an opinion since I don't know anything about the system. It sounds like it also includes a new throttle body and a new catalyst. Given your G-Tech, it would be very interesting to understand the impact of each piece as well as of the total system. Please keep us up to date, this sounds like an interesting project.

jfpound: I cannot install. I am not very technical. The installation, from what I understand is about $ 1,000 of the $ 5,000 kit.
jluetjen: Unfortunately, I am not sure if will be testing the Lenz in stages. I could ask the guys if that is possible. I will give them my digital camera so they can photograph the process. Although entirely unplanned, this project works out good for them as they have a PCA tech day on the 28th of this month and I have a feeling that my car may be a topic as Mike yesterday said he would like for me to be there then. I think the shop is expecting great results which gives me some confidence going into the project. I am really happy with my car now and a little hesitant to fix what is not broken, but this car is my toy or project car. I will apparently be able to provide 3d graphs of the mapping and etc. as oposed to simply a A/F line that the dyno gives. That may be pretty informative for those considering the kit.
