Question Carrera intake with 911SC Heads

Does the 84-89 Carrera intake fit on a 911SC with stock heads?
I am looking at building an SDS based EFI system.

Yes it does. The port size on the manifold is bigger though.
Good luck

The Carrera manifolds are also noted for uneven flow in the different branches

No personal experience Will but several of the tuners have frequently commented that the Carrera aluminum manifold doesn't have the most equally balanced flow around. The usual rec. is to extrude hone them, more to balance flow than to increase it.

Is it best to use part or the original wiring harness (Like for the alternator) or is it better to build from scratch? Are the fittings the same for the SC fuel lines and the Carrera injector rail? If not, does anyone offer an off-the-shelf adapter? What other gotcha's are there beside electrical and fuel?
Bill, Is there a different intake you would recommend, or just extrude-honing the Carrera is the best option?

Daniel

You can use the stock fuel fitting from the Carrera manifold. The SC stuff is different. You will have to do a bit of fiddling with wiring and fittings.

What size injectors are on the stock Carrera? Also, what is the best method to connect the Carrera fuel rail to the SC fuel lines? Do I use the SC Fuel accumulater?

Thanks,
DAniel

I think they are 24lbs.
I don't know the best method for the fuel lines. I make my own. No you do not need the accumulator

"uneven flow in the different branches" - Steve Wiener has posted about this on some forum or other -- as I recall, he extrude hones some or all of the branches. You could call him in Portland, or look for a guy in your area with a flow bench and some experience with this.

I know people back East do this, 'cuz the guy that bought my 3.2L induction system siad that was why he wanted it.

Good luck.
