1973 S A/C Vent replacement

I need to replace the a/c vents on my 73 S--the slats no longer move together and a few have broken off over time. I have no idea where to find replacements and don't have any idea how hard it will be to replace them. Any help out there? Thanks in advance.

These folks supposedly can get them for you:
http://www.scottsind.com/
if not, here a couple of other possibilities:
http://www.griffiths.com/
http://www.iceac.com/ice.html
Let us know if you are successful in finding the parts and the price. They are not difficult to replace.

first do you have factory air or do you have dealer added air? I purchased a factory air duct and parted it out. I have several of the louver parts. The air duct can be opened and the louvers replaced with out removing it from the car, if you are careful.

I know scottsind (Performance Aire) did have them for the aftermarket A/C systems as I've bought the vent louvers from them. They are very informed at Performance Aire and will help you identify which system you have. The louvers are not inexpensive : ~$25 each. They may also have the factory units. If not, I have a couple new OEM (NOS) 1973 factory vents that I purchased and haven't used and may consider selling (again I think they were around $25.00 each) plus some used ones still in a distribution duct. Cheers, Jim

Thanks guys for the quick responses. I'll check out some of these sources.

It is factory a/c.

I actually am not going to get to this for a couple weeks, but I'll follow up with you Jim if the vents are the same.

Thanks again.

Oz
