Caliper replacement

Can I just replace 1 caliper without replacing the other side? My front driverside caliper is frozen and I would just like to replace vs. rebuilt it.

You could do it, but how will you know you wont have issues with the others. Just buy 4 rebuild kits and do them. Does not take long and is easy to do. Plenty of info here.

Good luck

bb80sc is a smart man. rebuild them, very easy to do. and it will only cost about $25 per wheel, plus the brake fluid. good insurance to prevent further safety issues down the road. read the tech article here:

intimidating project, but it really is easy to do. in alot of ways it has been my most satisfying and funnest project to date.

You are getting good advice!

I did mine about two weeks ago. And now that the new pads are broken in, I've rediscovered the power of Porsche brakes!!! I can't believe what I've been missing.

Like you, I thought I only had one problem caliper. It turns out all four had failed dust shields and gunk was accumulating between piston and caliper. All were sticking, but two were much worse than the others.

Do all of yours. It is a 3 to 4 hour job, max, including jacking and bleeding.
