Swepco Motor Oil?

I don’t want to start the petroleum verses synthetic motor oil debate. I would like to know if anyone has tried Swepco Motor Oil and how is it?. I love the tranny fluid, so what about the motor oil? It’s time to change the oil in my freshly rebuilt 2.7.

Like religion - 1000+ opinions.

It can't hurt, but then again, you'd also probably never be able to tell you used it vs. any other high-quality leading brand.

Swepco is an interesting company. They cater really to the industrial business and heavy equipment. This comes from a couple of men I talked to lat year. One is a Swepco dealer like Pelican and the other is the rep out this way. I guess, if I'm being told this correctly, it was pretty much by accident that the tranny fluid was discovered to be excellent in out cars. Swepco wasn't after that market.

One of the guys mentioned something about selling a gallon here and there vs. selling a 55 gallon drum to an industrial user. Consequently, you don't see the stuff on many shelves (except Pelican's).

I wish the Swepco oil came in 1 gallon containers. I use Castrol 20w50 and I like buying it in the 1 gallon jugs. When I take the old oil to the recyclers, it's easier to handle the 1 gallon containers. If Swepco was sold like that, I'd pay extra for it...
