ring gear and clutch cover bolts
I have what is believed to be a cup clutch and flywheel. the application is 1992 c2 turbo engine up to a 1989 g50 tranny. Im missing the clutch cover bolts as well as the correct starter ring gear. I measured things and it appears that I need the bolts to be between 50mm and 60mm . The ring gear that i have must be wrong because it has threaded holes and you cant thread a clutch cover bolt through a treaded ring gear and a threaded flywheel at the same time. I believe my ring gear was from a dual mass setup. Does anyone have the resources to come up with part #`s for me on the bolts and ring gear ? Yes I checked pelican but theres no decription thats usable since (as far as I know) my engine is original with a dual mass setup.

heres what the flywheel looks like. It came attached to the 92 turbo motor when I bought it.
Kurt Williams ![]() ![]() Does this look like the lightweight cup flywheel ? It weighs about 10lbs .

I would call KEP. It sort of looks like a early stock 930 flywheel

Kurt,
The ring gear you have could be a dual mass ring gear. Reason I say this is because if you look at the first picture below from 1992, the ring gear is fastened to the primary flywheel with the #30 cheese head screws (these are supposed to be M7 screws so check the threads on that gear) and the threaded holes on the gear provide the "nutting" to hold the gear in place? The primary flywheel with the gear attached is then fastened to the secondary flywheel with the #32 M8 x 1.00 screws? ![]() As you can see in the picture above, the flywheel shown has gear teeth on it and it has more holes in the center for attaching the secondary flywheel. Your flywheel has none of this. I've found that the pictures of parts that Porsche puts in their diagrams are surprisingly accurate to the real thing. So I say Dean is right. More likely to be a early Turbo flywheel like this next picture? ![]() This flywheel is similar to the dual mass in that the ring gear appears to have threaded holes in it that fasten it to the flywheel. These screws should be standard M8 x 1.25. Another tip that yours is an early Turbo flywheel is the bumpout/convex section on the back side? I think this is to make clearance between the cheese head screws and the engine case? Sorry about all the question marks (?). I have never seen any of the above stuff in person. I'm just going by what I could figure out from the diagrams and your pictures. Hope this helps some?
