The windscreen wipers on my 82Sc dont seem to auto park any more, does anyone know what can cause this and what the cure is ?

One possibility (as was my case when I picked up my 911 from it's PPI and repairs), is the wipers are 'turned-off' by the lever being pushed up (full counter-clockwise) all the way past the detent. It will shut them off (at least in my case), but it does not park them. Once I figured out full down (clockwise) is the "normal" off position for the switch, the auto-park worked just fine.

When the switch in the column starts to go the wipers won't park correctly. I know in other cars when the motor starts to go it will also cause parking problems.

I have the same problem. I copied this from somewhere ... can't remember where ... but have not gotten around to messing with it myself. (Don't ask how long its been)

"There's a park switch in the wiper switch, which consists of two flat strips that are pushed together when the switch is turned off. no contact, no park. and the intermittents won't work either. remove the switch, leave the wires alone, and if you operate it a few times, you will see the contacts moving. a slight tweek is usually all it takes. saves replacing the switch. "
