I guess I'm just anal about that sort of thing.

holy crap does that corolla take off like a bullet.
don't like it in a 911 but i think that soloracer's project is sweet.

good luck with the swap, hopefully it isn't too much of a nightmare.

I've spent lots of time researching those rotary motors and I think they are damned cool. If I understand correctly, they are basically a two stroke design? And they rev forever. Simple design with few moving parts that makes a lot of sense. Nice. But I've always wondered if they are modular. Like, can you attach more rotors to make a 4 or 5 or 8 rotor motor? And what is the weight to horsepower ratio?

I'd put a rotary engine in a Miata. I'm not so sure about a 911. What do you guys think?

There are a few engineers working on a 4 rotor rotary engine trying to develop an engine for airplanes. Most racing Mazdas run a 3 rotor with turbos on each rotor. Average hp to cubic inch is 2.87:1. I hauled a Mazda to Bonneville for speed trials a few years back that made almost 900 hp on a 300+ci motor. He went upside down at 268, slid for almost a half-mile before coming to a stop.
