996 Brake exchange?

Help.

My new to me 911 race car had a break problem last weekend. I currently run 993 tt brakes up front. The calper threads are striped and I am Hemorrhaging brake fluid at the point where the hydolic bolt/line meets the caliper. So questions are:

1) Can the caliper theads be re-machined or are they toast. If so will the existing hydrolic bolt still work.

2) I have a set of 996 calipers laying around. Can these be bolted up to my 1979sc car? Will the rotors bolt up also?

Whitepost Restorations can probably save the caliper for you.

Dunno, they do use the same rotors but bolt spacing and o/s may or may not be different. try em and let us know.

I have a set of 996's too. Bill is the guy who would know and the source of what I have learned about brakes. I would say that unless you are running 17's pass on these

Thanks for the help guys. I called the racersgroup and they said they can take care of the problem for me. I let you know what the fix is once they explain it to me.
