Pros And Cons Of 18" Wheels?
I saw a SC cab today. Just the fact that it was an SC cab caught my eye. More interesting was that it had 18" wheels. I think the tire sizes were 265/35-18 rear and 225/40-18 front.
What are the pros and cons of an upgrade to 18" wheels/tires as compared to an upgrade to 17"? Are 18"s just for bling or would any of you choose them? How come I never, or hardly ever, see cars on this BBS with 18"s?

I don't think there is anything wrong with 18" rims, but I think they are pushing the limits of the suspension. This isn't a 2003 M3 that was designed with 19" wheels from the start. I think the suspension was first designed with 14" wheels. I currently run 16" and 17" on my 89 and I can feel the difference more then any suspension change. I like it on the track. On the street, it can border on very rough. I would imagines 18"s running on torsion bars and A arms would be even worse. Sure they will work, but you suspension still need some sidewall to help out those 1967 derived components.
