First Impressions of Stuttgart of Tempe,Az

Well seems the car couldnt get the PPI done today even though the seller dropped the car off at 7:30am, too many cars in on Saturday ? I talked to Jack at Stuttgart on Friday, seemed very friendly. Wouldnt give me a price on headstud check though? and some slight confusion if the seller was going to take the car in on Saturday, Jack took my # down and told me he would call. Didnt get a call from him today. So i guess my impression is 50/50 at the moment. I will wait until monday to get a better impression

I was planning on PM'ing you today to see how things went, did you try calling him? I've never had a mechanic that would call when work was complete, they always say they will, but they never do. Must be a mechanic thing.

Stuttgart

BE CAREFUL! He maintained the Porsche I purchased. I have been meticulously replacing, restoring, and remediating problems since August. Check everything carefully and make sure your car is back together properly and that all work was done as stated. Take NOTHING for granted. Charlie

Matt I didnt call, I was told i would get a call back, its no biggie. The seller called me and informed me what was happening. I just didnt like the fact that I tried to get a esitmate for the headstud check, I mean a shop like that does them all the time, I dont understand why I couldnt just get a price. The seller asked him and said it would be under $300. Charlie what problems have you had? Care to detail any problems you have had. I would like to get all views from those who have dealed with Stuttgart. I heard rave reviews from others here. And Jack seemed like a very friendly guy.

My car was maintained by Stuttgart with the PO and I also had the PPI done there before my purchase (not always the best idea, I know). Besides the problems I was already aware of, I have not had anything pop up that should have been cought on a PPI. I was, overall, happy with the purchase. Then again, they were familiar with the car. No PPI can catch everything.

Good luck.

I can't believe you didn't call them Frank, I figured you'd be so excited you couldn't stand it, especially after a week of waiting. I'm supposed to get my carb back on Tuesday, I laid in bed for a good hour last night thinking about driving my car again.

Stuttgart (Porsche only) Tempe Az

I've known Jack and others there at Stuttgart Southwest, Tempe
Az. Jack has personally worked on my car and I know for a fact
he didn't charge me half what he should have. Their shop is
meticulous. They are very knowledgeable. I'd take my car there
again.

yeah i have been like that pretty much all week, but also gives me time to think about stuff. I didnt call because i didnt want to be pushy, besides the confusion with the seller and when he was going to take the car to the shop would have made it worse if the car wasnt at the shop. I choose to wait, besides Jack took my # down and said he would call. The seller told me he would give me a call on Monday after all the checks are down and we will be talking about it then

The guys at Stuttgart are first rate professionals. They bailed me out on several problems I was having on day 1 of my trip from LA to home in NC. Great work, fair price and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I would complete the trip. And I did with not a single new problem. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

actually most shops likely *don't* do a headstud check very often...it is rare that it gets done on a PPI, and the buyer has to request and pay extra for it as it involved an oil change and gaskets. So I wouldn't be too surprised if it isn't the in the regular rotation.
