Mikkel,
Do you know anything else about this car? whos it was? aside from it being shown in the CARGRAPHIC catalog.. I really like the clean look of that car. just wondering if you knew anymore about it. Thanks, Eric Mckenna 78SC

Eric, I like that one too. I even saved the picture for future drooling. It looks like a C2 with a RUF front bumper cover/valance. You could probably replicate that on your SC with C2 rocker covers, Ruf frnt and rear (or C2 rear cover). And mirrors.

Souk,
HAHAHA I saved it to, it's my new screen saver. hahah I LOVE the look of it. yeah I was thinking of doing that, going for that clean , yet I mean business look. ya know.. because that car looks great. I hope to score a good RUF CTR front bumper this year at Hershey.. but if not i'll have to save and outright buy one. I DO like your taiste in cars if you also like that car. Eric Mckenna 78SC

Souk,
nope it's not a C2, because in the CARGRAPHIC catalog I have there are a few pic's of it and it has the rear end we have on our cars.. it's either a done up SC or a Carrera..the exhaust isn't like a 3.6 set up it's got SSI's like a 3.0 or 3.2 Ltr. it's NICE whatever it is. Eric Mckenna 78SC

Eric, My car is white, and I have been trying to score some early 911 fenders for a back date w/ SC rear fender prior to painting it (black or white---I can't make up my mind). But I have always thought the Ruf front was very nice. If the backdate plans continue drag on, I'll be saving for a CTR front too. I might have to run over to the Hershey swap this year too. You better get their early or I might beat you to it.
Can you scan and post the pix from the catalog? Yeap, it has to be an SC with the updates. That was my second guess. Souk |

Souk,
hahaha! I'll be waiting at the gates for the to open, w/running dhoes on! hahaha! I would go white, I think it has a clean look to it. like the old race cars.. white is good my SC is light gray. I for sure LOVE the "yellowbird" look more than any other..pics like this one simply make me want to do it more. I am getting the rear FG bumper from Thrown Hammer( shawn) so I really only have to now find a CTR front bumper.. I will try to get some more pic's for ya but if you go to car graphics website they will send you a REALLY nice free catalog with a few shots of that car in color. have a great night Eric McKenna 78SC

I want that white car, except with Cup1 replicas. Wow, that thing is gorgeous and it doesn't look like it would take much to replicate it. I think it's based on an impact-bumper 911 based on the way the rear bumpers is (looks like an RSR piece). Lets see, parts list goes something like this: aero mirrors, RUF front bumper, RSR rear bumper, C2 rockers, wheels, H4s if not already equipped and switch the amber side-marker with a tinted one and add front clear corner and turn signal lenses and to top it all off a C2 deck-lid with retractable wing. All in all for cosmetic only modifications it doesn't look like it would come out to more than $1500. Another half-ass look at the same car:

Yep,
It looks like I should simply start to save for the parts.. cuz that is a GREAT looking car..I can do with out the top rear window mounted third brake light tho.. extra weight ya don't need. otherwise a perfect looking 911. IMO. Eric Mckenna 78SC

With all the snow outside I needed a strong dose of Porsche so I went to www.pc-rm.de (Porsche Club Rhein-Mainer, I think) which is a very nice site. The links I posted are only part of what you can find there.
I don't know the white car other than it's the same one shown in the Cargraphic catalog (same license plate - page 118 & 120). On page 120 it has 17 inch Fuchs.... Oh and yes I like it too ![]() The Cargraphic page: http://www.cargraphic.de/ |

Eric,
Just joined this forum and was browsing through some of the older messages, when discovering an “old friend”. The white car shown is an early Cargraphic development car. I used to work on this car as a student (ca. 1986-88) and gained my first Porsche experience on it. It started life as a stock 84 Carrera (Euro 204 hp). I can well remember meeting Alois Ruf in person when picking up the fiberglass bumpers at Ruf’s shop in Bavaria. We then used the car for the development of sports exhaust systems. As we could not afford a dyno in these days, the usual procedure was installing the exhaust and then charging down a 20 mi stretch of Autobahn at full throttle. One day we burned a sizeable hole into the Ruf rear bumper when testing a less successful tail pipe design. In stock configuration the car was good for 140 mph and we later scratched the 160 mph mark (just exhaust and body modifications). Consequently we started working on suspension improvements as the car became somewhat nervous at full flight. We later installed a retractable Carrera 2 rear spoiler, which improved stability quite a bit without disturbing the clean lines. The car was later sold to a friend who continues to have the car modified and refined by Cargraphic (engine mods, brakes, wheels, mirrors, etc) Regards, Guenter (911T, 73.5 modified) Quote:
