Steering rack bolt specs?

Am going to be removing the bump steer kit, as it is actually contributing to more bump steer at my front ride height. Does anyone know the specs for the 2 bolts that bolt-up the rack? Would the longer bump-steer kit bolt bottom out?
thanks!

I just went out in the garage and measured my old steering rack bolts (I just installed the rack spacers) and they are 36mm long (the threaded area not including the head of the bolt).

What year is your car?

The bolts are 10X35 for an SC or a turbo, and 10X45 for a Carrera

Well M10x40 w/ 1.50 pitch (?) was the best I could manage. I guess if they bottom I can dremel a little off the ends. For some reason I can't for the life of me find these in Pelican's catalog?

I have 2 sets sitting on my garage floor if you want a set. It might take a while for me to get them to you though. If you want them tell me and I'll get them in the mail asap. The spacers came with longs and shorts and I have the ones I took out. Actually if you order the spacers you should get the bolts with them. There probably more to ship from pelican than the cost of the product. maybe not since your in CA too. It costs me too much in shipping to buy small things from pelican.

Mike- I can't think what the mkp number could mean? The ones I have w/ 1.50 pitch look typical- ie. not fine & not coarse.

Thanks for the offer on sending your old bolts out. Maybe I'll take a look at things one evening this week & verify if the ones I have are correct.

Procrastinator: What height do you have on what year car that the kit gives you more bump-steer problems? Why, why?? Don't leave us in suspense.

'82 SC @ around 25"-25.25" to top of fender lip @ front (have bilsteins, so its slightly different every time I measure). Visually I can see at this height that the tie rods are angling up slightly towards the steering rack. If I remove the 16mm (?) spacer the rack will drop by that amount which will hopefully get the tie rods level.

I believe I am around Euro Spec height, ie. about the ride height which the 911 suspension was designed for & am pretty sure that Euro cars were not delivered with rack spacers from the factory so I hope removing them can eliminate some bump steer.
