My exhaust nuts are 12mm (outside diamiter) but the hole in the SSI's will not allow a 12mm socket to pass through. Only an 11mm will. But, the nuts are 8mm 1.25 pitch, so I don't think anyone makes one that's an 11mm??
You guys that have SSI's..... Do you have 11mm nuts, or what? I think I'm going to have to grind down a socket, which is no big deal, but the walls are going to be offly thin!

Use barrel nuts for the ones that line up with the holes through the exchanger.
For the ones that don't, use one of these tools: ![]() ![]() ![]() Tom |

Just looked up barrel nuts" on google. I get it now.
![]() I ended up grinding down a 12mm socket. Oh well. Yea, the rest of them were easy with various wrenches. I just hope I never have to take them off. What a pain. I will post some pics soon. Oh, and the new wheels are on, so I will post pics of them, too.

Hope you used anti-seize. Barrel nuts would be best for handling and torquing.

Hey Chad,
Did you get my PM? If you already did the hex nuts, I'd replace them with new barrels before the hex nuts have a chance to freeze up. |

If the ground down 12mm socket bothers you, have a mechanic friend (or whoever) get you a thin wall Snap-On. I believe that's what other people have used?

I had to make a 12mm copy of the" twisted" wrench that came with my SSI,s as the one I recieved was a 13mm. I had no problem finding a socket that would pass through the holes.
