Cool We have ingition...not!

Which would you choose? Given that all would cost approximately the same amount, which unit is preferable on a 911SC?

1. Original Bosch CDI

2. Permatune

3. MSD

Fred,

I voted for MSD because it's the only one I have first hand experience with other than the original CD unit. I've never heard a complaint about the MSD when properly installed. Plus, Wayne has a section in his book on MSD installation. That certainly serves as a recommendation.

A friend tells me that Crane makes a very nice unit that is similar to the MSD with a rev limiter. You might want to take a look at that as you consider your alternatives.

Tell us what you decide and how it works out.

I replaced my PermaTune unit when I bought my car in July 2002 and also replaced the coil, engine wiring harness, points, dist cap, rotor and my ignition system has been very dependable with no problems... I recommend the PermaTune CD unit.
