Question '88 911 rich running & stall on initial throttle

I hope someone can help. I have an 88 911 Carrera. It seems to be flooding and/or running rich when it does run. I got it to start and started driving. After about 2 minutes, the engine cut out. I pushed it home. Checked for spark. It was OK. Could see and smell fuel at the joint of the exhaust "header" area on the driver side, so I think that while I was cranking the engine to try and start it, it was throwing fuel in. I Removed the fuel pump fuse, and cranked it until it started and stalled. Replaced the fuse & the car started, lots of white smoke for a few minutes, then seemed to idle OK. BUT, every few blips of the throttle, when I add a little (or lot) of throttle, the engine bogs, almost stalls, and if I release the throttle quickly, it stays running. Otherwise it stalls and won't start until I do the fuel pump fuse dance again.

I have replaced the Head Temp sensor & the Relay under the drivers seat.

Any ideas?
