Window Gurus to Glue or not to Glue
My driver's side power window glass separated from the track that it rides in. I'm putting it back in and wondering why it came out. It has the rubber gasket, but it isn't glued in. Should I use some kind of glue/construction adhesive to hold it in? There wasn't any in the track when I pulled it out. Also, any tips for getting the glass and rubber in the track? I put the rubber on the glass and sprayed a little windex on the surfaces to shove them together, but I can only get the glass 1/2 way into the track. Thanks for any suggestions.

3M makes a window channel bonding adhesive, if you can get the window into the channel all the way

I had a loose glass on the passenger side window of my Targa for a long time. When I took everything apart for the restoration I found a problem with the lower support rail. The bottom rail is "U" shaped and the glass slides into it and sits on it. The rail moves the glass up and down. I found that the bottom of the "U" in the rail was rusted out from one end to the other. I will probably have to replace the whole rail since I don't think it is salvagable.
