Clutch slave cylinders..G50 trans. Turbo vs. stock?
Dilemma....Some brainchild installed a '91 version Turbo clutch pressure plate in my 90 C2. The extra force required with the standard hydraulics has resulted in a sheared roll pin at the clutch pedal and incomplete release action. I just found this as I suspected fork failure and removed the transmission to fix it.
My question: Since the Turbo requires a different slave cylinder, can anyone advise just what the difference is from the standard cylinder? Throw? Capacity? I'm faced with either replacing the clutch with standard issue or upgrading the cylinder (if I'm sure it will work). Thanks.

I don't know what the differences are specifically but the part number for the C2 is 950.116.237.11. The turbo unit is 950.116.237.50. Normally, when the only difference is in the last set of digits and fairly closely numbered, this indicates a small evolutionary upgrade to the part. In this case, I would say it's a bit more than that. It probably is an indication that the part is stouter in construction or performance capability but exactly how, I don't know.
I would be willing to bet that the turbo slave cylinder will fit and operate with no issues. The only thing that MIGHT be an issue is increased line pressure on the hydraulic hose. I haven't checked PET but it's probably the same part number for the hose in either case so that's not a real issue either.

Since the clutch master cylinders (and other parts in the diagram)for both years are the same part according to PET, it seems that the only difference in the clutch hydraulics between the 90 C2 and the 91 Turbo is the slave cylinder.
Looks like big changes/differences in the clutch pedal system for the C2 and the Turbo didn't happen until 92, and then even further when the 964 Turbo 3.6 was introduced.
