Brake Caliper paint question
What should I use to paint the hubs--can't have a pretty caliper and a dirty rusted hub (or hat) ? Can I use a regular silver paint for this or does it need to be a high temp paint?

I would think the same paint as for the caliper, only because it is heat resistant, and heat, once dissipated from the pads to the rotor, must also effect the hub.

You will need high temp paint.
I did the calipers and hubs on my wife's Lexus with VHT spray caliper paint. Works and looks as good as the high dollar two part caliper paint I used on my P-cars.

Depends on how hard the brakes are used. I've seen powder painted red turned to brown(toast).
For the rotor hats I've used POR-15 or Wurth Rust Guard which is also available in silver. Seem to work well enough for most cars.

Next question as I have the wheel off and have been scrubbing the caliper and rotor hat, does the rotor hat come off easily with the removal of the 5 or so bolts inside the hats? It would make the job much easier. What do I torque these back up to when I reinstall? Thanks all.
