Upgrading to US H4`s, but shop cant find a kit for it ?

I want to upgrade my stock headlights to US H4`s, but my shop mecanix says he cant find them anywhere, in any of his catalogs.

Where should I look for the H4`s, and are there kits that come with the relays ?

SC Pilot.

You can order the H4s here at Pelican. It's a simple DIY. Why are you paying shop prices for this simple upgrade?

So basicly, the US H4s kinda look like the stock look that mine already carries.

So, If I want the look below, I need to buy Euro H4`s as below.

Yup, you could keep your current look with the US H4 style.
The US H4 replace the 'large sealed beam style bulb', with a 'large sealed beam style bulb' that can take an H4 bulb. The Euro replaces the whole light assembly. Pelican sells the Euro stlye assembly for a real reasonable price. A no-problem DIY project. Also it is a good idea to add relays to the headlights lights.

Euro H4s are much cooler. I would show you mine but I won't be moving to Vegas until early April.

US cars came stock with a sealed beam headlight that has a covex shape to the lense and a fixed bulb.

If you replace that headlight with a euro style H4 it is a flatter lense that has better optics and the bulbs can be replaced with higher wattage bulbs if you need more light.
They look much better than the US headlights.

If you want the full Euro look you have to replace the headlight buckets lenses and bezals and paint to match or go chrome like you already have.

H1's like I pictured above had 2 bulbs with a reflector for the lower bulb and I don't think can be bought new anymore?

I think the "H-1" posted by unimog is actually an "H-5"

Yup, that is what I thought also, but it has HB1 embossed in the lens, so I figured it knew more then I did?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but US spec headlights should have aiming "tits" on the glass face. Euro lights don't.

I ordered mine through Pelican Parts.
For an 88 though. they were the H4 Euro spec. No "tits".

That's right, Sherwood
A US approved H4 has tit's in the sealed beam style light. That are used for an aiming machine I think . If I did it over I would go with the euro's that are titless.

I think a bunch of you guys are adding confusion to the original question -- that only pertained to 7" conversion bulbs to replace sealed beams ... nothing was mentioned about 'Euro' headlamp ASSEMBLIES!

Hella, Bosch, and Cibie ... all make replacement bulb sets, or 'conversions' to replace USA sealed beams ... and both USA DOT-spec and European 'E-code' versions are available! Ron in LB has written extensively on the benefits of the E-code conversions ...

The 7" "E-code" Halogen Low / High Beam Cibie H4 is my favorite, and Hella 165 Watt/100 Watt H4 bulbs would be my choice to illuminate the road with ...
