What finish/color is my fan?

I'm looking to do a little engine detailing and was wondering what the correct original finish or color the cooling fan and housing should be on a '85 Carrera. I realize some guys like to do a custom job but I thing the original finish would look better in my application.

I have both anodizing and powder coat available to me gratis.

Pics would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike, I believe the housing is "natural", untreated Aluminum (and magnesium?). The fan is coated with a yellowish substance...maybe cosmolene. It is unattractive out of the box. That's why many choose to redo. I went with blasting and VHT clear...the finish looks much more uniform than stock.

Also a search will yield lots of pics.

I thought, originally, that only the center was colored and that was the gold cad plate. Even then, the rivets were natural. I could be wrong though.
