915 Tranny sensor?
I have just reinstalled my 2.2 with the 915 transmission that was in the car from the PO. On the right side of the box just above the transaxle there is a sensor/wire that comes out of the case. The wire is about 18 inches long and has a twin connector on the end of it. Anyone know what it is? Sorry about the picture quality

Only thing I can think it would be is the speedometer impulse sender.

Thanks. So I should be looking for a corresponding connector either in the wiring loom in the engine bay, or coming from the tunnel? The tub is a 1971 so the stock speedo cable would have come out of the nose of the gearbox wouldn't it?

Yep, speedo and it looks like the connector is broke, but that's how it's supposed to look...weird. Connects to the cable next to the shift coupler so it's easy to get to.
