Question Strange Sound

Hi folks,

wonder if anyone can help me solve this weird sound problem........here goes:

whenever I start driving the car cold and engage 1st gear and let the clutch out, there is a "wooo, wooo" sorta rubbing sound( as best as I can describe it!!). with the clutch fully engaged, the sound is gone. No problem with other gears. When the car warms, no more sound!!?? Had my transmission rebuilt 1.5yrs ago and had the friction lining changed at the same time. have already adjusted the clutch, but didn't help. I'm puzzled. Any suggestion?

My sound is like a woman screaming far off in the distance (not a woowoo sound), coming from the right rear. It only happens on steep inclines, and I figure it might be the rear tire scraping.

However it's more likely the rear CV boot needs some grease or is on the way out.

Grease up your CV boots see if that makes a difference.

I have seen pressure plates, flywheels, or even a clutch disc wrap a little, and when cold, the pressure plate or the flywheel hits the"high spots" until things get warmed up and flatten back out. Does not take much warpage to get it to make noises like you are talking about. I would almost bet that it does it when you are first letting out on the clutch. Could also be clutch adjustment, and it is actually slipping a little when you take off.
