Official "Thank Jim" thread.

GOT MY NEW BADGE!
Opened it up last night. WOO HOO! Love it. I will have pics in a couple of hours.
I decided I am going to black out the background so the "3.2" stands out. I will get pics of it on the car later in the week.

Shawn,

Looks GREAT! Can't wait to get mine, that's the look I was going for since the grill is black. Good job, what did you use to black it out?

I taped off the numbers and then sprayed it with trim paint. I thought it would look more translucent. But it came out BLACK.

Received mine yesterday - very nice, although the two badges were not packaged correctly and rubbed against each other. I am in the painting background phase and will post photos when mounted...

Received mine today. Looks great. The wife asked: what's that? And I told her it was an engine lid badge, and she wondered why I was getting all hot and bothered about something that goes in my engine?!?!?! .... go figure. I didn't think I should waste much time clearing that up. Anyway, I certainly know what it is and where it goes. Thanks again Jim.

Jim, Thanks again. I received mine yesterday. It's already on the p-car!

I think I will black mine out, also. How about just spraying the whole badge and then wiping the surface of the 3.0 (or whatever) off. Would save masking the numbers and should give the same result.......

Got mine on the car. Will have a pic up soon. For anyone with an early grille. I thought about drilling the little plaque that my original badge was glued to. Instead I just popped it off. It's held in place with reallt small rivets. I think if I would of drilled it the new badge would have stuck up too much.

skinnerd,
My wife doesn't "get it" either. She just doesn't understand why a 3.2 badge is a cool thing on an early car.
