Rear Sway Bar - Correct Way To Mount

I have a '69S with the original sway bar. I replaced all the bushings but now the drop link wants to pop off the ball mount on one side when I corner. I've mounted it with the suspension free and preloaded, it pops off either way. I'm not sure whether there is a "proper" way to mount these?

I had replaced all the bushings - it was a pita to get the one in the drop link. I don't know if I deformed it or the grease that I used is making it pop off. I'm going to replace the drop link bushings again and appreciate any tips.

my drop link was doing the same thing for awhile and I found a fix. Take off the link that is popping off and compare to the other link, the good one. The problem I had was that the bad link was bent ever-so-slightly and wasn't aligned on the ball properly, probably from someone forcing it off witha pry-bar to replace the bushings. A few bangs with the hammer and its been fine ever since. It used to pop off all the time with the stocker 15mm sway. After the fix, I installed a 22mm and it hasn't popped of since.

The sway bar is only meant to keep the two tires balanced and level, not to handle the weight of the chassis, so they should be installed with no preload while the car on the ground.

Someone mentioned buying one (or two if one's picky about asthetics) adjustable droplinks. That should be enough to keep that from happening again, unless the suspension is so worn that the wheel travel is excessive.

Probably a dumb question, but do they have adjustable droplinks for the stock sway bars? I know that you can buy an adjustable bar from a company like Weltmeister.

My car has the droplinks that pop over a ball mount.
