Best leather seat reupholstery kit?

I think I'm going to recover my SC seats (not sport seats.). More interested in quality than cost.

Is it possible to get OEM skins? Cost?

How is the quality of the World Upholstery product? How about Autos Intl? Who makes the kits that Pelican sells?

Thanks for your help!

I did World Upholstery on mine and am extremely pleased. They stand behind their product too. If you do it yourself though be prepared for shrinkage of the foam under the skins. They can shrink anywhere from 1/4" to 1/2" making the new skins loose. You may need to add a layer of foam to the existing pads to build them up properly.

Garage
Another good source is GAHH. Right down the street from North Hollywood Speedometer.

I had them custom duplicate the top on my 928 convertible, but they also make kits.

$900 for two front seats. I was quoted from richandfamous in Hollywood, CA. They are pros with good price.

I would say that it depends upon what is necessary. If it is only one or two bad areas an upholsterer may be a lot cheaper. I used a guy in Cortland, NY. Don's auto upholstery. They do high quality work. A local man who has anything from an early teens ford racer to a cadillac v16 goes to them exclusively. This guy also now has an auto museum in Norwich, NY. All the cars there done by the same guys. They re-stiched a couple of seams on my dad's Audi v8 back seat for under $50 and that included pulling the seat out and putting it back in. It looked as good as new. I used them a few years back to restich the seams on a pair of 911 highbacks. There were a lot of bad seams and I think the bill was less than $200. Except for the material, it was almost as if they had to reupholster the things!
