A/M calipers to wide versions

Hi, Just interested if A and M calipers can be converted to their Carrera wide versions inorder to accept Carrera rotors. If so has anyone done this and parts needed and procedure, Thanks Jerry

If you can get the parts yes it can be done. The seals are available but I don't believe that the center piece is a separately available item. Used wide A and M are very commonly available.

Bill, thanks for responding. You are probably right that it is probably easier to buy used Carrera calipers. One thought I did have was to use my existing rear M calipers with Carrera front calipers and rotors. however I thought it may be helpful if I could widen the my rear M caliper, use carrera rotors in the back also. This set-up would not require a PV because the rear pistons would retain the smaller size. My 77 911 is going to need brakes soon and just thinking of some non radical alternitives. I like the idea of having the thicker rotors. Thanks Jerry

The rears are much less stressed than the fronts. For a reasonably light car the Carrera front rotors and calipers with the stock 911/SC rear sets is a good inexpensive upgrade.

You are correct no p/v
