Ya... Some of the super charger mods for P-car engines could make some really serious horsies... There are several tuners in Pano and Excellence talking about 700+ hp. THAT would be sick, and it would fit correctly too.
To all the P-car "purist's" lighten-up... I'm pretty much a purist too, but that car could be stupid sick, especially if you decked it out with full CF or FG to lighten the load a bunch. Imagine that car striped to race wieght, with some 9's and 11's. Crazy!!!:D |

Major problem with this guy's claims! Sure the car probably make the 600 or so HP necessary for a 9 second run but there is NO way in hell that anything but a G50 will survive the launch required to run that time and even that is questionable. I've destroyed Ford Toploaders running 10's in a 3200lbs car, the same car shattered a couple of u-joints, bent the rearend required a new housing and stiffening brackets and twisted the original 4 lug setup requiring a switch to 5 lug. Even assuming he's making more than 600 HP and launching it soft it would still be hell on the driveline. Then there's the problem of getting a 911 suspension to hook up at the drag strip and if it did he'd definately have to have wheelie bars to keep from standing it on the rear bumper (kinda fun BTW). Besides 9 second 1/4 mile times means anything from 9.00 to 9.99 and believe me there is a huge HP difference between the two.
I'm not saying the car can't run in the 9's but it won't do it for long with a P-car transaxle. Below is a pic of what an 11 second launch did to a top-loader input shaft before I switched to a 9310 tool steel shaft. Well I have to agree that this car probably is a pos but let me play devils advocate here.
Since porsche has now come out with there own version of the v-8 in the peppervagen, what if this thing had that engine in it instead. Would that be more acceptable than the white trash chevy version. I mean really, it is not my cup of tea and not the way I would spend money on a car but it always makes me laugh when I see the uproar from a V-8 conversion. That car was probably a pos before this was done so I don't imagine it as a big loss. It isn't like it is such a rare car that we couldn't afford to lose it. With or without the original engine it would more likely end up like so many before it wrapped around a tree or in a ditch, to be hauled off to the scrap heap:D |
The Chevy engine likely weighs less than the chili pepper engine.
I don't know why 9's are impossible. I've heard of 944 turbos that run 10's and the ebay car has instant low rpm torque from the supercharger. |
Awful lot of stats for an engine with less than an hour on it.

If it is running 9's then for $20K that car would be a deal. I challenge anyone to build a Porsche that will do 9's for $20K. Even with somewhat of a hack job... 20K is change.

How about an LS1 aluminum block (107 lbs.), now we're talking! I would definately install a transmission safety shield to protect myself from the scrapnel!
