Question Front strut Q

The right spindle on my 79 SC had a nasty groove in it so I bought a "new" one. I immediately had the assemblies media blasted and painted. That was a year ago.

Today I tried to put the assembies back together. It turns out that the "new" spindle is smaller! The clamping nut from the only assembly slips right over the treads so it isn't even close. Am I SOL on this one, or can I just replace the clamping nut and thrust washer and use the rest of my parts (hub, etc.)?

If not, I have a shiny Bilstein green right side strut for sale.

Rich

Hah! There is the other difference I didn't mention on the Boge thread. I actually had one smaller nut and one bigger one and one inny dust cover and one outty one. It was a race car with the 911 struts. The overall dimentions were the same and the ball joint attachment were the same. I'd say use it.
