993 wheel help
Have a stock 96 993 with the 17 cup style wheels.
Two questions - -Does anyone know the width of the front and rear? Can't quite tell with the tires on! -How wide can you go on the front and rear without any body or suspension mods? thanks

all oem 993 wheels are listed here on p2 & further discussed on p3
basically oem 8ET52 & 10ET65 are the widest, w/ the right ET 8.5 & 10.5 can comfortably be fitted. Some of used wider but have compromised ride height to do so tires oem 225/40 & 265/35, 235/40 or 235/35 & 280/30 can comfortably fit and 245/35 can even be used in front. again some have fitted wider but w/ compromised ride height

Glad to help. You'll find this forum is a valuable asset.
How's about some pics of your cars? The GTO sounds interesting.

car pics - GTO
My father-in-law bought this car new in 1965. Restored 2 years ago. Completely stock, 389 4bbl, 4 speed, power brakes, AC and manual steering! one of about 3,200 post coupes built in 1965
Lost my father-in-law to cancer last year and he gave me this car before he died. It's a powerful feeling driving this car in more ways than one... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

car pics - 914
Ive had this car for years. It's been an autocross toy and a general cruiser. It is mechanically perfect but needs some cosmetic TLC to finish the Chalon kit. I like the look, but somewhere along the way I became a purist, plus I need the garage space, so it needs to go. Has a 2.5 ltr 4 that puts out a dyno'd 165 HP, rebuilt everything...
FOR SALE!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very nice!!!!
The GTO story is a plus to a beautiful car. It's great that you have such fond memories of your FIL when you think of this car. Welcome to Pelican.
